“But the LORD is in his holy temple; let all the earth keep silence before him.”
(Habakkuk 2:20 ESV)
Habakkuk wrote these words as he waited for God’s response to his questions.
How and when do you apply them?
Do you apply them as you assemble with the saints to worship? How about when you tune in to the livestream of that assembly? What are you doing to be consciously aware of his presence? What are you doing to silence the world around you and the world in your thoughts? What are you doing to silence all but him?
Do you apply them in your everyday life? After all, it is not only the assembled body that is his temple, nor his people as a whole. You, as an individual, are his holy temple as he dwells within you. Do we make ourselves aware of his presence within us and around us? Do we quieten the voices and thoughts of the world around us and in us to make all subject to his voice?
Are we striving to quieten ourselves and allow Jesus to live in us?
