“Faith comes from hearing and hearing by the word of God.” So wrote the Apostle Paul in Romans 10:17. Peter wrote, “You have inexpressible and glorious joy,” which is the end result of your faith. (1Peter 1:9) The emotions and feelings come from what is believed.
Therefore, Paul’s statement becomes vital. It’s not the feelings and emotions that matter. Why not? Because the emotions can come from believing a lie. Remember Jacob’s overwhelming sorrow upon learning of the death of Joseph. But Joseph wasn’t dead. Jacob’s sons had lied to him.
True faith can only come from hearing the word of God.
